Database & Infrastructure Ownership
  • Owned end-to-end database and infrastructure setup for the SBL platform: evaluated multiple storage options, selected RDS PostgreSQL, designed schema and table structures, and managed schema versioning via Liquibase with Lambda-invoked migration execution.
  • Provisioned multi-region infrastructure (us-east-1 / us-east-2) with active/hot-passive failover using Terraform, ensuring high availability across the platform.
SBL Notification Engine
  • Designed and owned two Spring Boot microservices — a dedicated Margin Call service (Kafka, SQS) and a shared Past Due & Welcome service (Kafka, SNS, S3) — deployed on AWS ECS across 6 environments via Terraform IaC.
  • Margin Call Alerts: Built a real-time event pipeline with multi-step business rule validation (11D seasoning, call status, amount thresholds) and retry scheduling — replacing a manual ops workflow with automated, market-close SLA-bound delivery of ~300 daily alerts.
  • Past Due Notifications: Implemented tiered notification logic (accelerated / non-accelerated / weekly) backed by a 22-rule suppression engine (AML, Bankruptcy, Deceased, COAL, ALR) — eliminating 200+ hours/week of manual advisor dispatch, formally quantified by the product team.
  • Welcome Notifications: Built a parallel-processing batch pipeline over 5M+ cumulative SBL records (daily), reducing run time from 4 hours to under 1 hour by replacing sequential processing with parallel streams.
  • Integrated 11 external systems via Kafka, SQS, SNS, S3, GraphQL, and OAuth2-secured REST APIs; implemented idempotent event handling and DLQ-based reprocessing to prevent notification loss across failures.
OA12 Restriction Management
  • Architected a Java 21 Spring Boot microservice automating collateral restriction workflows across 6 enterprise systems (Kafka, GraphQL, DB2 Mainframe, Aurora PostgreSQL, GCM CDS, Atlas Email), processing ~100K restrictions/month with multi-region failover — replacing a legacy tool requiring manual approval per restriction event.
  • Designed system architecture reviewed and approved by senior engineers; defined API contracts and led integration with 6 dependent teams spanning Product, Operations, and downstream consumers.

Software Engineer
Java Backend · B2B Product
  • Delivered 100+ RESTful APIs across 8+ B2B product features following REST design best practices; built Incremental Analysis — reprocessing only changed data rather than the full dataset — reducing algorithm execution time by 60%.
  • Optimised PostgreSQL, HBase and Neo4j query performance by up to 40%; built 5+ microservices consuming event streams via Apache Camel and RabbitMQ.
  • Collaborated directly with clients in an agile environment to gather requirements, groom backlogs, and deliver features across product release cycles.
